Directions: Submitting Illustrations for the book

Who can draw illustrations for the book?
All kindergarten through twelfth grade students from the United States—plus teachers, student teachers, and retired teachers, K-12, from the United States.
What do you do?
1. Read the third draft of the manuscript for the book—available as a PDF at KevinKremerBooks.com or facebook Kevin Kremer Books. Feel free to print it out and make as many copies as you would like.
2. Select a particular part of the book you would like to illustrate.
3. Draw/paint a color illustration on a piece of white drawing or construction paper, 12 inches high by 8 inches wide (use the portrait orientation).

2. Select a particular part of the book you would like to illustrate.

Avoid putting important details of your illustration near the edges of the paper.
4. Please don’t bend, fold, or smudge your illustration. However, it may be rolled and put in a mailing tube to mail.
5. Send to: Snow in Sarasota Publishing, P.O. Box 1385, Osprey, FL 34229-1385
6. Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope or box if you want the artwork returned.
7. Neatly print the following information on the back of your illustration:

(NONE of the information you provide will be used for any purpose except to contact the people whose artwork has been selected for the book.)
8. Teachers, please feel free to send a whole class’s or school’s illustrations in one box, package, or mailing tube. Folded or damaged artwork will not be considered for publishing purposes.
9. Students and teachers whose artwork is selected will be contacted by June 1, 2017. All those whose artwork is used in the published book will receive a FREE book plus $20 plus special recognition in both the printed book and the e-book.
10. Artwork for the book will be chosen from all student grade levels and teacher categories, if possible.
11. The final book will be printed during the summer of 2017 and available as an e-book and paperback by September 1, 2017.
12. The deadline to get artwork to us is April 2, 2017.

**You have my permission to print as many copies of my third draft as you need and use them for the purposes of this contest or classroom teaching purposes, but NOT to sell.
Also, remember, this is only my third of six or seven drafts, so I’m not really done with the story yet. If you have any suggestions for additions/corrections/edits for the story, please let me know. I will give you credit in the final book if I use them.
